Herefords has been run by the Sambell and Richardson families
since 1949. The stud was originally founded by Les and Margaret
Sambell and has been run in conjunction with their daughter
and son-in-law Carolyn and Phil Richardson since the 1970s.
Since Les's death in 2001, Phil and Carolyn have continued to
develop the Homeleigh Herefords name throughout the Mid North
humble beginnings, it has grown to 500 acres across three properties
and regularly produces premier-quality hereford bulls. Homeleigh
Valentine was sold for a sale topping price of $7,500 at the
Gloucester All Breeds Sale in 2001 and more recently in 2005,
Homeleigh Yarra 2 and Homeleigh York shared the Gloucester All
Breeds Sale record, both being sold for $10,500.
continues to grow and Carolyn and Phil are ably assisted by
their children Peter and Amanda and their families.
